I am going to appear for my last cds attempt in cds1 2023 that too for OTA entry. My major concern is that incase candidates selected via ota entry wants an permanent commission after 10 years of service then what are the criteria they need to follow to get that without any hassle since i came to know that there are now only 10% granted pc out of 200 officers.
Kindly comment on the same. Also request you to enlighten about the opportunities an ssc officer has can they join NSG after comission. Can you also guide what an cadets needs to do after joining ota so that from the beginning their chances of pc becomes stronger from day 1
Thank you asking a very direct and relevant question. It seems that you have a decent exposure to the army and has done good research about it. I will try to answer all the questions asked at my best, but if you need any further clarification then feel free to do so. Regarding Getting PC, yes you are right, government had make new regulations which makes it bit hard for an SSC officer to get PC but deserving officers will get it, so don’t overthink about it and work on your performance while in service, there are plenty of things one can you once you are in service to increase your chance of getting PC but. I will not discuss it here as it’s very far in time for you. A SSC officer can opt for NSG and join it if got approved in physical test, there is no discrimination for this between a SSC and PC officer. Within the span of 10 years an officer gets plenty of opportunity to prove himself as a successful officer to get PC (permanent commission)
