Hai sir, I want to be a JAG officer in Indian army. Currently I am doing my LLB course. Could you give me a glimpse of army life as I am from non military background. And , Is it easy to get permanent commission from SSC ?
Sure, to get the idea about the training structure for a jag cadet you can read my other blog about life of a cadet in the OTA (Officer Training Academy), it will help you to understand the level of hard-work one need to put in before commissioning.
Post-commissioning, a jag officer will be mainly responsible for handling the legal cases in the organization. A jag officer is only posted to higher administrative headquarter as an legal advisor to senior most officer in charge, giving crucial advice on policies and action to be take on disciplinary issues and other mundane task.
Currently, for a jag officer it is much easier to get the permamnent commission, but these policies keep changing over time, so can't guarantee for in future. But generally speaking, if you are performing good in organization, you will easily get the permanent commission.
Hope it clears some detail, feel free to ask more.
